We invite you to join us on an exciting journey into the fascinating world of contemporary ceramics. From 11-15 September 2024, in the Union Square in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, we will organize the seventh edition of the festival, where art enthusiasts and ceramics lovers will have the opportunity to explore and experience the complex and fascinating world of cultural-artistic ceramics.

Organized by the Caolin Association and the CeramArt Foundation, the festival brings to the forefront an impressive diversity of contemporary creations such as conceptual-artistic ceramics, jewellery, design objects, traditional craft objects and interior design proposals, bringing together world-renowned artists and dealers to celebrate and promote this unique and vibrant art form.

For Caolin #7, we’re bringing you a series of exciting events and activities:

Exhibitions and Main Events:

The International Contemporary Ceramics Fair – Caolin, held in Unirii Square, becomes the perfect host for approximately 40 ceramic artists and vendors. They will showcase a wide range of works, from utilitarian and decorative ceramics to design objects, contemporary jewelry, traditional artisanal ceramics and proposals for interior design, all available for purchase. In the same location, visitors can also explore the “Focus on Artist” section, dedicated to promoting established or emerging talents. This section offers non-commercial individual mini-exhibitions organized in a series of specially designed spaces where the public can admire artistic-conceptual ceramic works.

The International Ceramics Biennial Cluj (BICC ) – proposes a retrospective exhibition, where the works of about 70 Romanian and foreign artists will be exhibited in Union Square. This exhibition represents an important branch in the promotion of contemporary ceramic art.

Thematic Exhibitions:

The thematic exhibition Ethnographic Ceramics – at the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the diversity and tradition of ceramics in the ethnographic context, exploring works inspired by traditional culture and crafts.

Historical Ceramics – at the Museum of Transylvanian History, the exhibition will provide an insight into historical ceramics, highlighting the importance and contribution of this art to the cultural heritage.

The thematic exhibition Pharmaceutical Ceramics – at the Museum of Pharmacy, visitors will be able to explore pharmaceutical ceramics, discovering the relationship between ceramic art and the pharmaceutical industry in the past.

Educational and Recreational Workshops:

In Union Square, visual artists will run interactive workshops for both children and adults. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the art of ceramics and to express their creativity through hands-on visual-artistic activities.
